Gene Webb, President, founded Pumpstock in 1997.  He envisioned an opportunity to serve pump manufacturers with their regional sales management needs in a cost effective manner.  Having a strong background in pump manufacturing, sales and distribution, he created a business in which pump manufacturers enjoy a strong sales presence in the region without the burdens associated with a full time regional sales person.   His vision has matured into a very successful business.

Prior to starting Pumpstock Gene performed in the following positions:

General Manager of Price Pump Company, Sonoma, CA.  Responsible for all aspects of day to day operations of a $6+ million manufacturer of industrial centrifugal pumps, sold to both OEM’s and stocking master distributors.  Major functional responsibilities included marketing, sales management, engineering, product development and Total Quality program.  Revised distribution program from a multi-discount, mass distribution system to a master stocking distributor program.  Distributor sales increased 45% in 2 years.

Plant Manager of Price Pump Company.  Responsible for all plant and manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, production planning, inventory management, purchasing, shop personnel management, plant maintenance and improvements, and engineering management.

Materials Manager of Price Pump Company.  Responsible for all manufacturing functions including production planning, scheduling, and control, as well as purchasing. 

Associate with Flo-Line Technology, a stocking pump distributor in Benicia, CA.  Responsibilities included application engineering, inside sales, purchasing, pump repair and assembly, and field service work.  Major pump lines included Durco, Iwaki, Crane Chempump/Chemmeter, Isochem, ECO, Price, Micropump, ARO, and MTH.  Markets covered included petrochemical, chemical, refining, semiconductor, and biotech.

General Manager of Dowling Magnets, Sonoma, CA, a $3 million manufacturer/distributor.  Responsible for all aspects of operations management including purchasing, inventory management, production control, finance, sales and marketing. 

Gene has his B.S. in Business Administration (Production, Operations, Systems Management) from California State University, Sacramento, CA.  He is also carries his CPIM, APICS (Certified Production and Inventory Manager).
